Rap fans around the world all agree that rap music has many different styles; styles that tend to differentiate based on their
respective geographic regions. The style of St. Louis is different from Chicago's, which is different from New York's and Los Angeles'.
The South tends to follow this distinctive trend with its own very own style; and T.I. personifies that style with an exclamation point. Soutthern
Rap is all about the beats, with the lyrics coming second. "Trap Muzik" overflows with delicious beats and rythems, and actually
features well-written lyrics that don't focus on chicks and cars which tends to be a recurring theme in recent rap muzik.
I first saw T.I. on MTV in his video for this album's lone national hit, "Rubber Band Man", and was instantly tuned in. After listening to this hour-plus album
straight through a few times I've found a few favorites in songs 3-11, with "Rubber Band Man" an "Be Easy" being my favorites. The entire
album however is great, and if you've never listened to much Southern rap then you are in for one helluva ride. The great thing about T.I.'s muzik
is how he always speaks his mind, and shows a side of intelligence through his lyrics and beats that other artists tend to lack. Although that is not necessarily a bad thing. soon as you
pop this CD into your stereo your head will be bumpin with the muzik and T.I.'s hard-hitting beats. If you hate the Taliban then this
CD is a must-have
