It seems that those who have heard the Deftones' music either love them or hate them. I really haven't met or heard of anyone who thinks they're ok; it's almost always one way or the other. I for one, am a huge fan, and White Pony is easily, in my mind, their best album to date. While a number of their albums seem to be "one-hit wonders" for many people, White Pony is exactly the opposite. Out of the 12 tracks, 5 are radio singles, with multiple others legitimately "single-worthy" in many minds. Track 11, "Change" arguably is the band's flagship song, as it is repeatedly used as their closing song at many of their concert stops, and for good reason. From the intense ups and downs of Passenger, to the quiet yet powerful tunes of Knife Party, White Pony delivers in every which way.

Chances are if you're reading this review you're either a Deftones fan who either has the album already, or has always strongly considering picking it up. You may be wondering as to why I've waited almost 5 years to review it, and for good reason. It's a simple fact that the majority of college students don't have huge budges to purchase all the latest cd's, dvd's, etc, so older albums usually are the way to roll. Enter in albums like White Pony, seeing that you could probably pick it up for $10 or less at most outlets, new or used. If you're into rock and looking for a solid, new album to diversify your collection, White Pony is for you. My highest recomendation.
