The Office Season Two Review
Universal (Television)
2006
A few weeks back the 2006 Emmy Awards (video!) were on television, and the coveted award for Outstanding Comedy Series on Television went to a show called, "The Office". Folks, if you haven't seen this simply hilarious show yet you are truly missing out. I was one of those persons until very recently when season two arrived at my doorstep, and to be honest all I've been doing since then is watching and laughing. Steve Carell (40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman) plays the regional manager of Dunder-Mifflin, a paper supply company up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and just by watching the first episode you'll realize why he won a Golden Globe Award for his character. Translation: if you enjoyed him as Brick in Anchorman or his starring role in 40 Year Old Virgin, "The Office" is a must see. Hell, if you enjoyed Office Space, and chances are you did, then you have to own this series on DVD.
Season Two of "The Office" is simply loaded with awesome extra features, not to mention all 22 hysterical episodes. I don't know if any of you remember any of NBC's old "The More You Know" commercials from way back in the day, you know like telling you how important it is to get an edumacation and what not? Well if you do you're in for a real treat, let me tell you! In easily the best special feature in season two, the cast members all take turns starring in hysterical parodies of these commercials, and to be honest if these were the only special features included I'd be one happy friggin customer. Yes, they're that good. What makes this DVD boxed set even sweeter though is that those parodies only scratch the proverbial surface of what's included. After picking up "The Office: Season Two" on DVD, or winning it in this month's forum contest, you'll also be getting tons of deleted scenage, 10 original "webisodes" that I guarantee you've never seen (making that 32 episodes in all), blooper reels, ginormous amounts of episode commentaries with the actors, writers, and producers, and much more. And by saying "much more", I really mean there's more; I wasn't just trying to finish up this review. Honestly.
To sum it up, season two of "The Office" is a must have for every single one of you out there on planet Earth. I know you laughed your ass off at Office Space, and I know you love Steve Carell, so what in the world is holding you back? Go buy this stellar boxed set right now, or stop by the CD Forums and win yourself a free copy! Heed my advice and get it today!
