Grand Theft Auto Tricked Out Edition Review

Let me get this out of the way: This DVD, "Grand Theft Auto: Tricked Out Edition" has absolutely nothing to do with the popular video game series. Zero, nada, zilch. On the other hand, "Grand Theft Auto" was Ron Howard's directorial debut, and he starred in it as well. Ron Howard, you know who I'm talking about don't you? Let me help you out here people; Ron Howard has directed many blockbuster Hollywood films including A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code. Now is this becoming clear for you? Don't worry, I went through the exact same ordeal. GTA pulls the audience into a high speed car chase across the United States as two lovers attempt to reach Las Vegas to tie the knot before they get caught. Love will make you do crazy things, won't it?
From a DVD perspective Grand Theft Auto is pretty well done, even with a less than stellar feature presentation. Buena Vista gets at least one thumb up for throwing in some nice special features like audio commentary from Ron Howard and Roger Corman, as well as trailers and other introductions that really help balance this purchase out nicely. Future owners of this title also get Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound support, which is nice to have. While you could probably find a more entertaining film on WGN at 4am on a Tuesday, it's still an overall nice DVD.
