Doctor Who The Complete First Series Review
BBC Video

Good science fiction shows are hard to come by, at least new ones for that matter. For those of us here in the United States, BBC Video has just done all of us a ginormous favor by bringing the longest running science fiction television series of all time to DVD. I had never heard of "Doctor Who" until a review copy showed up at my doorstep, and let me tell you I'm already hooked. I was never a Star Trek fan, as this show is so commonly compared to; so if you're like me I'm sure you'll dig Doctor Who. The plot line behind this epic British show revolves around an adventurer known as "The Doctor", who explores time and space with his team fighting evil. While the plot may sound basic, the show essentially speaks for itself once you start watching. With the complete first series now on store shelves, what can you expect besides all the episodes?

Just like the award-winning show, the special features in "Doctor Who: The Complete First Series" are out of this world. All in all you're looking at more than five hours worth of extras, an amount you rarely see in any DVD. More specifically, the biggest reason to smile is the insane amounts of audio commentaries on every single episode; that by far is one of the most impressive extras I've ever seen. From start to finish, episodes and extras, "Doctor Who: The Complete First Series" is in an entirely new dimension. Overall an excellent DVD box set, and it's a must-have for any true sci-fi fan. Pick this one up today folks.
